Mechanical Design For West Coast Eagles’ Training Facility At Lathlain Park

The West Coast Eagles’ new facility at Lathlain Park includes a state-of-the-art training facility, administrative offices, and club headquarters. This development marks the new home of the West Coast Eagles AFL franchise, bringing together elite sports performance and professional operations in one integrated space.

Froster Engineering was engaged to deliver the mechanical services design, working in close collaboration with Populous Architects to align system performance with the architectural vision.

A considered, efficient solution

This project required outside-the-box thinking to meet performance goals while managing operational and maintenance costs over the long term.

Our mechanical design focused on:

  • Thermal comfort for both training and office environments
  • Energy-efficient system performance
  • Seamless integration with the building’s architecture

A few strategic design decisions, with a clear focus on the end user, resulted in a practical, streamlined solution that benefits all stakeholders — from athletes and staff to facilities managers.

Collaboration and long-term value

This project is a strong example of how early engagement and master planning of mechanical systems can deliver significant results. By working closely with the architect from concept through to documentation, we ensured the mechanical systems supported the function, form, and future flexibility of the building.
